Welcome!

This is the first time I've kept a blog so we'll see how this goes. I've started this mainly so my daughter (Charlotte) can put her video diary on the web.

Charlotte is 8 1/2, dyslexic, autistic, CAPD, and possibly VPD. Almost everything that helps a "neural-typical" child learn, does NOT work for Charlotte.

She also has dysgraphia which means that the physical act of writing is hard for her. (Thus the video diary.)

For math, we're making our own math sheets to help her with wrote memorization. She's started working with negative numbers and distributive properties with -1. For example, -1(13 x -2) =

Charlotte understands "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis. She may ask the meaning of certain words, but she gets it. However, she has trouble reading Hop on Pop. Well, it's MUCH easier if she turns the book upside down.

MANY juxtapositions with our little girl.

As time goes on I'll share more about her and her trials, triumphs, etc. I'll also share what DOES work for her and what does NOT work for her.

Sometimes I'll get in a blog every day, sometimes you might have to wait a few days. But it'll get done. Sort of. LOL.

We also share a house with some friends and the daughter (Bryana, 11yo) is also doing some video blogging.
