Hello Again I can't believe it's almost been a year since I last posted. Well, OK... I can. It's been NUTS! First, we were dealing with a military move, which goes something like this... Yes, you're moving. Be prepared to move in ten days. one month later.... Nope... just kidding. You're not. two weeks later... Oh, our mistake... you are. You're moving to South Carolina. one week later... No... No... that's not it.... You're moving to Georgia. another week goes by... HA! JUST KIDDING! You're moving to Kentucky, to a base where homeschooling is vilified!!!! two weeks later... No, no you're not. Ummm... we think it's South Carolina, but we're not sure.... one week later... No, no... it's Georgia... be prepared to move in ten days. one month later... KIDDING! The SOLDIER is moving to South Carolina in less than a week (forget that anniversary and your daughter's birthday). Report for duty TCS (temporary change of station). Family? What family? If we'd wanted you to have a family, you'd have been issued one...... six weeks and lots of threats to call congressmen and every possible obnoxious right-wing political talk-show host.... Family moves to South Carolina. (So now we're in mid-April.) OOH! Was that tax day I just passed two weeks ago while trying to unpack????? oooooooohhhhh....... a DoDs school....... (Department of Defense School) ooooooooohhhhh..... a school liaison who homeschooled for 11 years..... nnnnneeeeeeaaaattttt programs at sccccchhhhooooollll....... hyyypppppnnnnoooootttiiiizzzzeeeedddddd....... ddaaauuuuggghhhhttttteeerrrr gggooooooeeeesss to schoooooollllll...... And yes, she's still in a DoDs school, and she LOVES it! She has the greatest teacher, and has help for her dyslexia, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and made the Principal's list (B-average)! But believe me.... if this weren't a DoDs school on base... she wouldn't be going! So, this blog probably won't have a whole lot about DMZ Home Schooling for a while... maybe DMZ DoDs schooling... or perhaps DMZ tutoring... but not home schooling... until the summer where DD gets to do lots of homework... he he he. What am I doing with all this free time? Foot surgeries. BOY what fun! OH... ADD moment... back to June-ish... We enjoyed hanging out with some home schooilng families, had some family and friends come to visit, got behind in the school work, hubby went to Tampa for TBI evaluation, I had a nervous breakdown (no.. really... vacation at the "spa" for a week and everything)... Chibi (DD) went back to school, and I had foot surgery. The rest of the time has been spent trying to earn a few extra bucks here and there, TRYING to FINALLY get unpacked (last couple of years have been INSANE and we've not been fully unpacked since... oh... 1998... at least....). A week or so from now I get to start a Ham Radio class, which will be fun. Hopefully I can get my life a little bit more organized. HA HA HA HA HA But, that's pretty much life for now. Oh.. Chibi was in the church choir, chorus, karate, walking club, and girl scouts. She's decided to cut down her activities to church choir & girl scouts. YAY! gggoooooooooodddddd.........
